Interview with Dr. Martín Resano in Spectroscopy Online discussing the MARTE group’s research in advanced atomic spectrometry and its biomedical and environmental applications.

The MARTE research group (Rapid Analysis Methods with Spectroscopic Techniques) at the University of Zaragoza, within the Aragon Institute for Engineering Research (I3A), develops advanced methods in atomic spectrometry and related techniques such as ICP-MS and laser ablation to analyze samples at the micro and nano scale, including nanoparticles, cells, microplastics, and very small volumes of clinical interest. Its applications include elemental and isotopic analysis of complex matrices, with special attention to minimally invasive approaches for diagnosis and biomedical analysis.

In the interview published by Spectroscopy Online, Dr. Resano highlights that emerging trends in spectroscopy include single-cell analysis and the characterization of micro- and nanoplastics, fields that require the integration of various optical and spectrometric techniques. The group works in an interdisciplinary and international manner, promoting applications with real impact in biomedical and environmental fields. More information here.
